Lauren, walk me through how or why you started your blog?
I was traveling more than most people my age, and was continuously getting texts or messages from friends, family, sorority sisters, etc., asking about my travel experiences and for recommendations. I’ve always loved to write, so I figured a blog would be the perfect way to share everything I knew with anyone who was interested!
Do you feature a specific type of travel or area?
Recently I’ve explored several different areas in Texas, but I blog about travel all over the world! I love hiking, so a lot of my content is related to that.
What is your favorite part about being a blogger?
I love helping people any way I can. I’ve had so many people send me DMs and thank me for the information I’ve provided about a certain destination, or ask additional questions, which feels so good! Being able to share my advice and connect with people who, without social media, I would never have been able to, is really amazing.
What is your favorite or dream destination?
Favorite: Costa Rica. Dream: To hike the American Inca Trail in Peru (hopefully doing this in 2022!)
What is your favorite travel tip?
Get a bank or credit card without any international fees. There are plenty of options out there!
What other suggestions do you have for travelers?
Be patient with yourself. Every time you travel, it’s a learning experience. You’re not going to arrive in London and immediately understand how to navigate the Tube, it’s part of the journey.
What suggestions do you have for bloggers or what has been the biggest obstacle you have had to overcome with your blog?
Be true to yourself. Don’t travel “for the blog,” travel for YOU, and then blog about it. Sometimes sitting down to write after a trip is overwhelming, so give yourself the grace of time, so your audience receives the best version of your trip.
