Roman, where are you located?

I am from France, my wife is Malaysian and we live in Malaysia.

When did you start your blog?

I started in January 2020 but unfortunately because of the Pandemic, we had to cancel so many trips, hopefully we will be able to travel again soon!
You can read more about my story here - https://discover-evolution.com/about-us/

Walk me through how or why you started?

I have always been interested in creating a blog but never knew where to begin.  I wanted to create a blog that will empower my audience with travel tips and guidance for digital nomads. Whether you’re a first-time traveler or not you will always be able to find tips that will help you on your travel journey.

What is your favorite part about being a blogger?

Being a travel blogger gives you the freedom to write about things that you really love and are inspired by. In addition writing articles to help others is even better, many people love to travel but fear the unknown. I want them to feel safe and not be afraid to take risks to realize their dreams.

Do you feature a specific type of travel or area?

Discover Evolution is all about the Digital Nomad lifestyle and travel tips to make your life easier - we do not focus on a special area in particular, in fact we would like to travel everywhere and give our audience great information to help them go forward on their travel journey.

What is your favorite or dream destination?

Back in 2015, my friend and I undertook an amazing cycling journey across the Gobi desert in Mongolia all the way to the Ak Baital pass (4655m above sea level in Tajikistan - 5500km in 4 months). We both cycled a few countries before but Mongolia was something else. It is even hard to explain through words. It was without a doubt the hardest cycling journey I have ever experienced - Sandstorms, freezing cold temperatures at night (-25 degrees celsius) and extreme headwind (70kph / Minus 10 degrees celsius). I remember that day, where it was so windy and so cold that we did less than 40km in 7 hours! We found a shelter under the road in order to hide from the freezing cold wind. However, my heart as a special place for Mongolia and I'll love to return and visit this amazing country. VIDEO: https://youtu.be/risI_CAVEkg

What other suggestions do you have for travelers?

The only advice I would give to anyone that wants to start traveling is to go for it! Let me tell you my story...

Back in 2000, I was studying in a marketing school near my home town but wearing a suit, talking about money the whole day, and learning how to scam people to become richer was not for me.

In addition, the person that employed me for my internship was racist! There was no way that I could spend 2 years next to a person like that.
.
So I quit!
.
I then worked several jobs and passed a few diplomas to become a children entertainer. My goal was to work abroad and to travel the world.
.
As I could not speak a word of English, I created a fake resume and sent it to a different resort abroad. A week later I received a call from someone asking me if I will be interested in working in the Bahamas for 7 months.
.
They asked me if I was speaking English and if I was ready to leave by the following week, and I said YES!
.
Can't lie that they were pretty mad at me when I arrived in the Bahamas and that I could not understand half of what they were saying but they gave me the only thing that I was looking for... AN OPPORTUNITY!
.
Within 3 months, I learned the basics and in 7 months I was fluent in English, which allowed me to find jobs in Spain, Cyprus, England, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia...
.
I've now worked in more than 10 countries, traveled in more than 40 of them and cycled 21000km across 16 countries.
.
Never give up on your dreams and never listen to haters!

What suggestions do you have for bloggers or what has been the biggest obstacle you have had to overcome with your blog?

The biggest obstacle when starting a blog is actually creating it. I am using wordpress and it takes a very long time to understand how it works. And if you are not an expert, you will spend many hours with the support team to create what you actually want.
