Ashley, when did you start your blog?
I started my blog in March 2020.
Walk me through how or why you started?
I started my blog solodreamtravel.com to document my solo travels. I know so many people that are afraid to travel by themselves. I started my blog to influence others to be free and travel despite going alone, because there is so much beauty in the world to see.
Do you feature a specific type of travel or area?
My blog features mountains, road trips, and airbnb experiences. I will soon document my flight experiences during Covid.
I also have hotel-airbnb reviews. In March 2021, I documented my experience staying in a Tiny house for a few days on my blog!
What is your favorite part about being a blogger?
My favorite part about being a blogger is sharing my thrill with the world. I absolutely love being a solo traveler. I enjoy planning my trip, reviewing places to stay before I arrive, and being in awe of a new place.
What is your favorite or dream destination?
My Dream Destination is to visit St. Lucia. I enjoy looking at the pictures of this beautiful place, but I will cry tears of joy when I arrive there.
What is your favorite travel tip?
My favorite travel tip is to ALWAYS travel with a Fanny pack. When you carry a purse or a bag, you may have the tendency to forget to zip it or your bag could be an alert for others to steal. With a Fanny pack, you have a small bag directly in front of you, and you’re able to be hands free to enjoy yourself without worrying about a thief.
What other suggestions do you have for travelers?
I suggest that solo travelers be at their hotel or room before night fall, to be safer. When going to a new place, don’t look like a tourist, and ALWAYS pay attention to your surroundings.
What suggestions do you have for bloggers or what has been the biggest obstacle you have had to overcome with your blog?
My biggest obstacle is site traffic. Currently, I am a new blogger, and I don’t have a lot of visitors to my blog. I encourage new bloggers to NEVER give up, continue to document your journey because you are helping someone that you don’t even know.
