Yanitza, when did you start your blog?
I started my blog in 2018.
Walk me through how or why you started?
I created Next Stop Adventures as an outlet to share some of the exciting road trips and outdoor adventures I took with my family. Journaling our travels is always like therapy to me! Now, I mostly travel on my own and share my hiking and outdoor travel experiences. Over time this blog has evolved into something that I deeply love. I also get to work with amazing brands that are fascinated by nature and the outdoors, just like me!
Do you feature a specific type of travel or area?
My focus with Next Stop Adventures is hiking, outdoor adventures, and historic sites. If it’s outdoors, I’m interested!
What is your favorite part about being a blogger?
I love this question because being a blogger involves a lot of personal growth and I’m all about that! But mostly, my favorite part is that I get to be myself. Being a blogger is about having my own voice, sharing who I am and what I love.
What is your favorite or dream destination?
Well, I have two! My dream destinations are Norway and Iceland.
What is your favorite travel tip?
Create a photography itinerary for your travels. List the places you want to photograph, the angles you prefer for each photo, time of day for shooting, select the clothes you will wear, and choose which days will be ‘picture days’. This allows you to spend less time focusing on pictures and more time enjoying the destination.
What other suggestions do you have for travelers?
Always pause and enjoy the views! Sometimes travel can feel overwhelming and fast-paced. But nothing compares to being still–even if for a little while, to soak in the views and admire the beauty around you.
What suggestions do you have for bloggers or what has been the biggest obstacle you have had to overcome with your blog?
My biggest obstacle has been consistency. Learning how to stay consistent with my blogging took me more than a couple of months. Creating my own editorial calendar and setting up the blog topics and social media content a month ahead has been a real game changer for me.
