Roshunda, where are you located?
I’m currently living in the United Kingdom. One hour shy of London.
When did you start your blog?
I started my blog in June 2020
Walk me through how or why you started?
Initially I started my blog because I wanted to share pictures of my travels while living in England. However, over time it morphed into so much more. I was inspired by other travel bloggers and the amazing advice and details they would give about their travels. I’m a big fan of Pinterest, so I would research that platform to plan my own travels. So I was like, hey I would like to be the one to help others plan their travels. They can read about my mistakes, so they don’t have to make the same ones. Also, I wanted to make traveling easier for Americans especially traveling throughout Europe. Plus, I’m in the military, and I wanted to help other military members learn about England and how to navigate living in another country.
Do you feature a specific type of travel or area?
For right now, I’m blogging about my experiences in the United Kingdom, Central Europe, and Africa. I center it around traveling with families and tips for living abroad.
What is your favorite part about being a blogger?
My favorite part of being a blogger is having the freedom to express myself and my experiences. As well as helping others plan their travel and showing people that it is possible to go out and see the world. Not only that, I’ve connected with so many other travel bloggers and influencers. It’s been an incredible ride to meet new people and learn from each other. I’ve been able to tap into another world of amazing people.
What is your favorite or dream destination?
So far, my favorite destination has been the Canary Islands, Spain. Specifically visited Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and it was absolutely incredible. The island had everything you could imagine. You could swim, snorkel, and scuba dive in the gorgeous clear blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean. You could climb any of the numerous mountains they have there. Ride dune buggies through the mountains. It was definitely an adventurous trip. The weather was beautiful, and the Sangria was delicious. The whole trip was just so picturesque.
What is your favorite travel tip?
My favorite travel tip is to use packing cubes. Packing cubes are great for compacting your clothes and putting them in a suitcase. They come in a variety of sizes, and it helps keep your clothes organized and compartmentalized. For instance, I would put all of my shirts in one packing cube and bottoms in another. You won’t have to dig and dig through a pile of clothes; just unzip that packing cube and your G2G. I also like the fact that if TSA decides they need to open your suitcase, at least all of your unmentionables won’t be exposed.
What other suggestions do you have for travelers?
This handy tip came from my father. Always tip the hotel staff and housekeeping. If you tip them some money, they will take extra care of you and your room. They are more willing to attend to your needs, like giving you extra towels and giving your room a more thorough cleaning.
What suggestions do you have for bloggers or what has been the biggest obstacle you have had to overcome with your blog?
My suggestion is just to keep going and don’t give up. Being a blogger is a lot of work. It was more work than I realized it would be. However, it is very rewarding when you know that people recognize you and love the content you are putting out. Sometimes it may just take a while for your blog to take off, but it is so worth it.
