Travel Insurance Master personalizes your travel insurance online shopping experience so you can easily find your recommended plan for your next trip. After you input your travel details, you will be able to compare plans and filter by the benefits important to you.

Worried about the fear of COVID-19 causing you to cancel your trip?

If you think the fear of contracting COVID-19 would make you seriously consider cancelling your trip, the Cancel for Any Reason benefit may be a good option for you. It’s important to remember that canceling due to the fear of COVID-19 is not a covered reason for Trip Cancellation on its own, so Cancel For Any Reason will give you that added flexibility.

Cancel for Any Reason or CFAR benefits are just that – you are able to cancel for any reason whatsoever usually up to 2 days before departure for a reimbursement up to 75% of prepaid non-refundable trip expenses, depending on the specific plan. To purchase a plan with CFAR, be sure to buy your insurance early, usually 1-21 days of initial deposit, depending on the specific plan.

Remember CFAR is an additional benefit and does not replace your regular trip cancellation benefit that covers you 100% for covered reasons, most common when you, your family member, or travel companion get sick.

Trip Cancellation plans also provide coverage if you or your traveling companion contract COVID-19 before your trip and you cannot travel. Some plans cover cancellation if a family member contracts COVID-19 and requires your care or their case is life threatening. Other covered cancellations may include if your business partner contracts COVID-19 and you must manage the business. All cases must be certified by a physician.

Worried your Pre-existing Medical Condition could affect your trip?

You will want to purchase your insurance early, usually the same day or within a set number of days of initial deposit, to take advantage of time sensitive benefits like the Pre-existing Medical Conditions waiver.

For plans without the Pre-existing Medical Conditions Waiver, normally a medical condition present prior to your travel insurance policy’s effective date would not be covered. Most plans have a look-back period which means the plan investigates your medical history, anywhere from 2 to 18 months, to check if your condition appeared or was treated during that time. If you or someone you are buying insurance for has a pre-existing health condition, you should seriously consider the likelihood of it flaring up or reoccurring before or during your trip.  If so, look for plans with the Pre-existing Medical Conditions Waiver – it usually doesn’t add to the cost of your plan! Remember this is a time sensitive benefit. If you purchase insurance much later after purchasing your trip or making an initial trip deposit, this benefit may not be available to you anymore. In this case, check if you can find a plan with a look-back period that’s shorter compared to when you last registered your medical condition with your doctor. For example, the last time you called your doctor was 63 days ago. If you purchase a plan with a look-back period of 60 days or less then you do not have a pre-existing condition at all and therefore do not need the Pre-existing Medical Conditions waiver.

Worried about COVID-19 while on your trip?

If you are worried about being delayed due to quarantine required by a physician on your trip, you will want to purchase a plan with the Trip Delay benefit. On TravelInsuranceMaster.com, you can filter and choose coverage amounts for this benefit that will provide coverage for additional hotel expenses and meals. For specifics and limits, check out your plan details and certificate.

If you or your travel companion are diagnosed with COVID-19 by a physician while on your trip, Trip Interruption may provide reimbursement of non-refundable prepaid trip costs and expenses for your return home.

It’s important to note that COVID-19 is treated the same as any other illness by travel insurance companies, so Emergency Medical and Evacuation benefits will provide coverage for medical expenses if you were to contract COVID-19 during your travels, and evacuation if medically necessary.

Worried about luggage delay or loss?

We’ve all been there, your checked bag is taking just a little too long to appear in baggage claim at your destination. Don’t worry – if your bags do not arrive at your destination promptly, Baggage Delay coverage reimburses you for the purchase of the immediate essentials if your luggage is delayed for the time period specified in your policy.

If you’re worried your luggage or covered personal effects could be lost, damaged, or stolen during your travels, consider the Baggage Loss benefit.

Worried that destination wedding could be cancelled?

Filter plans by the Wedding Benefit on our website. This benefit will add an additional unforeseen event for Trip Cancellation – Cancellation of a wedding at the destination. Be sure to purchase early to take advantage of this, usually within 1-15 days of initial trip deposit depending on the specific plan. Details and coverages vary.

Worried about riskier activities and adventure sports?

Don’t worry – we have travel insurance plans for that too! Filter by the Hazardous or Amateur Sports benefits on our website.

Although some plans may have exclusions for these types of activities, plans like AIG Travel Guard Preferred include the following Adventure Sports Bundle:

This Cancel for Any Reason benefit definitely sounds good!
Travel insurance is so important. We have needed it a few times in the past. Now with covid to interrupt your travels, it's extra important to have the right one.
Knock on wood, we have not needed travel insurance in any of our travels. The lost luggage was found and delivered. However, as we get back to a world of travel (hopefully), covering the "just in case" moments will bring greater peace of mind.
Travel insurance is certainly the way to go these days!! In the era of covid, it definitely eases my mind when traveling!
I feel like travel insurance is especially important right now, with travel plans being so uncertain with the Delta variant. Thanks for sharing these awesome options.
Travel insurance is definitely the way to go when traveling outside of your own country. I love how many COVID-related benefits this company has. Right now it's more important than ever since we really don't know what could happen.
I have always purchased travel insurance, but I think it's actually more important now than ever before. It's absolutely essential to be protected if traveling (especially internationally) during the pandemic. Great post!
These are such great tips & the exact right reasons to highlight about why EVERY traveler needs insurance. While it was important pre-covid, it now seems essential.
Quoting Linda LD Holland:
We certainly have far more to worry about when we travel. But we have never travelled without travel medical insurance. Now it is even more important. As scuba divers we always have to look at the sports clauses and see if there are exemptions.

You're right Linda! Definitely consider the Adventure Sports Bundle which removes the exclusion for adventure activities like scuba diving! It's one of my favorite things to do on my travels too.
